Mr. DeKay's feature work includes a lead role in the indie feature Welcome to the
Neighborhood. He also starred in the critically acclaimed festival favorite Big Eden, with
Academy Award® winner Louise Fletcher and Arye Gross. Mr. DeKay's other feature work
includes turns opposite Don Cheadle in Swordfish with John Travolta, If These Walls Could
Talk with Demi Moore and The Pentagon Wars with Kelsey Grammer.
Mr. DeKay is also known for his extensive theatre work. He was seen on Broadway with Pat
Carroll and Boyd Gaines in The Show-Off. Off-Broadway he played the title role in Billy
Budd at Circle in the Square. He did the National Tour of The Lion in Winter with George
Peppard. His Regional Theatre work includes Burning Blue at the Lorraine Hansbury Theatre
in San Francisco and The Court Theatre in L.A. where he received a LA Weekly nomination
for Best Actor. He performed Someone to Watch Over Me and Star Fever at the Denver Center
where he is a company member. Mark Lamos directed him in The Merchant of Venice at
Hartford Stage. He has also performed at the Cleveland Playhouse, Cincinnati Playhouse,
Penguin Repertory, Indiana Repertory, and Levin Theatre (Othello) with Avery Brooks, and
Pasadena Shakespeare, among many others.
Mr. DeKay was most recently seen on television in the recurring role of Reverend Keyes on
Everwood. His guest star appearances include Friends, Malcolm in the Middle, and The
Practice, among many others. He has also recurred on Party of Five and Seinfeld (as
Bizarro Jerry).
You can also hear Mr. DeKay occasionally on NPR performing in plays for L.A. Theatre Works
with Mercedes Ruehl, Charles Durning, Linda Lavin, Anthony La Paglia, Michael Cristopher,
John Marshall, Geoffrey Jones, Stephanie Zimbalist and others.
Mr. DeKay is a lifetime member of The Actors Studio. His education includes a B.S. in
Business Administration from Le Moyne College and an M.F.A. in Acting from Rutgers
University where he met his wife, actress Elisa Taylor.
